Field-inspection relating to seismological scans

On behalf of Fröschl Geothermie GmbH and Wagner-Group the company FWE conducts seismological scans in the area of the cities Gars am Inn and Schnaitsee to identify possible sites for a geothermal powerplant, which would be able to supply the region with environmentally sound power and heating in the long term. „The political situation in the Middle East shows more than ever, that we must launch into the subject of energy autonomy in the industrial nation Germany. Our investments in regional and peripheral generation are a crucial step into an ecologically reasonable and sustainable future“, clarifies Florian Fritsch, CEO of Fröschl Geothermie GmbH. During a field-inspection on March 11th representatives of the surrounding municipalities  and of the press were informed about the geological background and the applied techniques. Afterwards the vibroseismic measurements and the mobile data-center were inspected at work. The four attending mayors were impressed and shared the hope, that their respective municipality would be geologically best suiting for a geothermal powerplant. The measurement will continue until April and subsequently the data will be converted into a 3D image of the underground, which will serve as a basis for decisions about a site.
